At Harvesting Change, we believe that beautiful things happen when a community comes together.
Whether you love gardening, enjoy creating something with your hands, have a special skill to share, or simply want to make a difference, there’s a place for you here!
We’re building more than a garden. We’re creating opportunities for neighbors to connect, friendships to grow, new skills to be learned, and people of all ages to feel part of something meaningful.
And we’d love for YOU to be part of it!
🌻 No Membership Fees — Just Community Spirit!
Right now, there are no membership fees to join our garden community or volunteer with Harvesting Change.
We believe everyone should have the opportunity to get involved, regardless of their financial circumstances.
Instead of asking for membership fees, we’re inviting community members to contribute something just as valuable — their time, talents, ideas, and willingness to help.
Whether you can volunteer regularly or lend a hand occasionally, every contribution makes a difference.
No gardening experience is necessary, and there’s no minimum volunteer-hour commitment to express your interest!
🌿 Ways You Can Get Involved
🌱 Help Our Garden Grow
Love being outdoors? Enjoy working with plants? Or maybe you’ve always wanted to learn how to grow your own vegetables?
Garden volunteers may help with:
- Planting seeds, vegetables, flowers, and herbs.
- Watering, weeding, and maintaining garden beds.
- Building and preparing raised garden beds.
- Helping with garden improvements and seasonal projects.
- Assisting with harvesting and approved produce distribution.
- Sharing gardening knowledge with others.
You don’t have to be an experienced gardener. We’ll welcome beginners and experienced growers alike!
🎨 Help With Workshops & Creative Activities
Gardening isn’t the only way to get involved!
Harvesting Change is also developing educational and creative programs that bring people together through hands-on learning.
Volunteers may help with:
- Preparing supplies for arts and crafts workshops.
- Assisting participants during creative activities.
- Helping with rock painting and other community projects.
- Setting up and cleaning up workshop spaces.
- Organizing materials and donated supplies.
- Helping children and families enjoy age-appropriate activities.
You don’t have to be an artist or instructor to help make a workshop successful!
📚 Share Your Knowledge & Talents
Do you have a hobby, skill, or special interest that others might enjoy learning?
We’d love to hear from you!
Some possibilities include:
- Gardening and seed starting.
- Painting, crafting, and creative projects.
- Sewing, crocheting, or other traditional skills.
- Composting and sustainable living.
- Cooking, preserving, and practical life skills.
- Other educational or hands-on activities that support our mission.
You don’t need to be a professional teacher. Sometimes the most meaningful lessons come from neighbors sharing what they’ve learned over the years.
Workshop ideas and volunteer instructors are welcome, subject to program approval and scheduling.

Not everyone enjoys gardening or leading activities, and that’s perfectly okay!
There are many other ways to help Harvesting Change grow.
You might enjoy:
- Assisting with community events.

- Helping with fundraising and outreach.
- Welcoming visitors and assisting with registration.

We understand that everyone has different schedules and responsibilities.
Some people may have time to help every week, while others may only be available once a month or during special events.

We welcome individuals who want to contribute in ways that fit their availability.
As our programs develop, we’ll share volunteer opportunities and scheduled activities so you can choose what works best for you.
🌷 What About Garden Harvests?
One of our hopes is to grow fresh produce while teaching valuable gardening skills and encouraging community participation.
As our garden develops, harvesting opportunities and produce distribution will follow established garden guidelines.
Our goal is to recognize the efforts of those who help maintain the garden while also finding meaningful ways to share available harvests with the community, including individuals and families who may benefit from fresh produce.
Participation as a volunteer does not automatically guarantee a share of the harvest, but everyone who contributes helps make our mission possible.

Harvesting Change is currently in its development stage, and we’re working toward establishing a welcoming space for gardening, educational workshops, creative activities, and community gatherings.
That means there may not be regular garden hours or scheduled volunteer opportunities immediately.
But this is also an exciting time to get involved!
