Harvesting Change Community Garden is more than a place to grow vegetables—it is a place to learn, participate, share, and build community.
Membership helps support seeds, soil, water, tools, garden maintenance, educational programs, events, and other resources that keep Harvesting Change growing. Just as importantly, our members help make the garden what it is by contributing their time, talents, and participation throughout the year.
🌱 Community Membership — $50 per Year
Our Community Membership is for individuals who want to be an active part of Harvesting Change.
Community Members commit to a minimum of 20 participation hours during their 12-month membership period, with a suggested goal of approximately 5 hours per quarter.
Your hours can be completed throughout your membership year as your schedule allows. Participation isn’t limited to digging in the garden! Hours may include:
- Gardening, planting, watering and harvesting
- Garden maintenance and cleanup
- Helping with workshops, events and community outreach
- Office or administrative assistance
- Organizing tools and supplies
- Building, repairing or maintaining garden areas
- Educational activities or sharing a skill
- Other Harvesting Change-approved activities
We understand that health, work, family responsibilities and other circumstances can affect someone’s ability to participate. Please contact us if you need an accommodation or an alternative way to contribute.
🌻 Community Volunteer Membership — $25 per Year
For members who would like to contribute more of their time, we offer a reduced-rate Community Volunteer Membership for $25 per year.
Community Volunteer Members commit to a minimum of 10 volunteer hours per month.
Volunteer hours may be completed through gardening, maintenance, workshops, events, office assistance, community outreach, educational activities and other approved Harvesting Change projects.
This membership is a great choice for someone who wants to take a more hands-on role in helping Harvesting Change operate and grow.
👨👩👧 Additional Family Members — $15 per Year
Once a primary Community Membership or Community Volunteer Membership has been purchased, additional family members ages 5 and older may be added for $15 per person, per year.
Children under age 5 may participate with their family at no additional membership charge and must be appropriately supervised.
🪴 Interested in Your Own Garden Space?
Members may also have the opportunity to rent an individual garden plot or bed, subject to availability.
🌱 Garden Plot Rental — $25/year
Available to active Harvesting Change community members only • One plot per household initially • Subject to availability, contact us to get your own garden plot .
Garden plot fees are separate from membership fees. Members renting a garden space are responsible for maintaining their assigned area and following all Harvesting Change Garden Rules and plot requirements.

If you believe in what we’re doing but don’t have the time to participate as a member, you can support Harvesting Change through a one-time or recurring donation.
Donations help provide seeds, soil, tools, water, garden improvements, educational programs, events and other resources that allow us to serve our community.
You do not have to become a member to donate.
📅 Membership Period & Renewal
Memberships are valid for 12 months from the member’s join date.
Community Members are expected to complete their 20 participation hours during their membership year to remain eligible for renewal.
Community Volunteer Members are expected to fulfill their 10-hour monthly volunteer commitment.
We recognize that circumstances can change. Exceptions or alternative participation arrangements may be approved by Harvesting Change when appropriate. If you’re having difficulty meeting your commitment, please contact us rather than simply walking away—we want to work with our members whenever possible.

By joining Harvesting Change, you’re not simply paying a membership fee. You’re becoming part of a community.
