Harvesting Change is a nonprofit community farm and garden dedicated to sustainable food, hands-on education, and building strong community connections. We grow fresh produce, care for animals, and host workshops and events that teach self-reliance and regenerative practices.

Our mission is to grow food, grow community, and grow together. 🌱 By teaching sustainable farming, encouraging volunteerism, and creating family-friendly programs, we aim to sow seeds of change that nourish both people and the land for generations.

We’re rooted in Northern Arizona, just outside Holbrook, on a 10-acre site that includes a large community garden, orchard spaces, composting areas, and places for livestock like goats and chickens. Visitors are welcome during open days and events!

Everyone is welcome! Families, students, local residents, and even visitors from outside the area can take part in our programs, workshops, and events. We believe in inclusivity and in providing learning opportunities for all ages and backgrounds.

Volunteering

Absolutely! Not all volunteering requires being on the farm. If you live outside the area or prefer to help from home, there are many meaningful ways to get involved—such as helping with outreach, writing newsletters, supporting fundraising campaigns, managing social media, or assisting with administrative tasks. Every contribution, whether in person or remote, helps us grow stronger roots in the community. Click here to submit your volunteer request.

No prior experience is needed. We provide guidance, training, and a welcoming environment. Whether it’s your first time gardening or you’re a seasoned farmer, there’s a role for you. 🌿

We welcome volunteers of all ages and skill levels—whether you’re planting seeds, building raised beds, caring for animals, or greeting guests at events, your time makes a real difference. Getting started is easy: complete our volunteer sign-up form or reach us directly at grow@harvestingchange.org or 928-414-1718. From there, we’ll help you find the right opportunities that fit your interests and schedule. Together, we can grow food, nurture community, and sow seeds of change.

We believe everyone—young and old—has something valuable to contribute. Families are encouraged to volunteer together, and youth under 16 are welcome with a parent or guardian. Certain activities, such as using tools or working with animals, may be limited to older teens or adults for safety reasons. No matter your age, there’s always a way to help—whether it’s planting seeds, painting rocks, caring for animals, or greeting guests at events.

We’re flexible! You can volunteer for a single event, a few hours, or on a regular schedule. Consistent volunteers help us build momentum, but even one day of help plants seeds of change. 🌱

We suggest wearing comfortable outdoor clothes, closed-toe shoes, and bringing a hat, sunscreen, and water. Tools and supplies are usually provided, but if you’d like to bring your own gloves or garden tools, feel free.

Help us plant seeds of knowledge, sustainability, and connection. Together we can Harvest Change
